NOURISH

AN INDEPENDENT, PRINT MAGAZINE ABOUT FOOD, ENTERTAINING & BUILDING COMMUNITY

PULL UP A CHAIR. TAKE A TASTE. COME JOIN US. LIFE IS SO ENDLESSLY DELICIOUS. [ RUTH REICHL ]

NOURISH offers compelling stories, inspiring visuals, and access to interesting restaurants, chefs, homecooks, purveyors, doers + makers.

NOURISH is first and foremost, a community.

A community that believes deeply in the power of food to equalize, connect, chart new territory and honor tradition.

Through the words and visuals, and gatherings we host, you'll come to know how deeply satisfying it is to eat jam made from fruit that would've otherwise gone to waste, or eat in a restaurant whose passion for food and hospitality came from the generations before them, or go out of your way to support a café that a couple took honorable risks to open.

These are stories about humanity and community, told through food. And you will begin to more deeply recognize your own humanity and place in community through this lens.

Food is love.
Food is connection.
Food is joy.
Food is life.

We're thrilled you're here.

Nourish was born, as so many worthy things are - from conversations with adored friends, and admired colleagues. We asked ourselves what we wanted to be doing with our lives. How our experience could contribute to the larger community. How we could enrich the lives of our readers, and our own in the process.

Nourish is a magazine about food & community. Through thoughtful and inspired storytelling, compelling images and recipes that will make you want to get in the kitchen [even if you don't consider yourself a cook!], we use food as the bridge to a great life. We're also giving you the inside access to restaurants purveyors,  doers and makers that will enrich your life through food.

As Rene Redzepi - Chef and Co-Owner of Noma in Copenhagen beautifully and accurately said:

I believe that when a culture allows itself to include food as one of life's great pleasures, the people will find pleasure more easily and fully in other aspects of life.

Pleasure in this manner is not indulgent or frivolous. It is necessary for a satisfying life. That pleasure can come in many forms, to enjoy a life of depth and breadth. Food, such a necessary and practical part of our lives - recipes passed down from generation to generation, meals we share with others whether in our own homes or theirs, those we cook daily, hand-crafted items made with a sense of spirit and passion, and the food we enjoy in the restaurants within our immediate communities, and those on our travels - is life.

PEOPLE who LOVE to EAT, are ALWAYS the BEST PEOPLE.
